Keep your child busy with sports this season and sign him or her up for Red Tigers Youth Softball League, Mettle Child Youth Sports Program (see registration form below). Participation in organized youth sports is a great opportunity for children of all ages to develop baseball skills in an environment that is enjoyable and fun. Children learn the basics of ball handling, throwing, batting, fielding and running; and for the more seasoned players....sportsmanship!
Eligibility:
The 2015 Red Tigers Youth Softball League program is offered to children ages 4 to 18.
Softball Divisions (boys and girls):
◦ Tee-Ball ages 4-6
◦ Minor League ages 7-9
◦ Junior League ages 10-12
◦ Senior League ages 13-15
◦ Big League ages 16-18
Tuition:
The cost to enroll is only $20.00 per child.
Transportation:
Players may be escorted to and from practice by a Red Tigers Softball Manager (see coach for details).
Coaches:
It is the coach's responsibility to teach and encourage all players. Show sportsmanship and fairness to all involved. The example you set as a coach will be an important one for the players to follow. At the end of the game, each team, including coaches, will line up and shake hands with the opposing team.
Timeframe:
The 2015 Red Tigers Little League program is planned to begin Tuesday, May 26, 2015 and will run for seven weeks.
Game Time:
Practice and game schedules are determined by the coaches and will be posted online when they become available. Games will last 6 innings or 1-1/2 hours, whichever comes first. Coaches are required to strictly adhere to this rule. Under normal conditions, games will start at 6:05 PM.
Players are expected to arrive at the field at least 15 minutes before scheduled start time - Click here for Schedule and Results, plus Roster
Fields:
TBD diamonds in Baldwin, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe, and Washington counties.
Uniforms:
Red Tigers Youth Softball League will supply each player with a free cap and tee shirt depicting the team name. Both items are the children's to keep at the end of the season (please provide your child’s size upon sign up).
◦ Other uniform wears needed are baseball pants, tennis shoes, softball glove, water bottle, sun protection, and a hard hat/visor.
Players need arrive to all games in proper uniform prepared to show their #mettlespirit!
The key to success and the concept of the program is total participation of coaches and parents! Your positive influence and constructive direction will allow for a fun season this year and for years to come.
Fundraiser:
Legal guardians of children enrolled in Red Tigers are asked to help with a fundraiser to help defray the cost of equipment and to keep our entry fees as low as possible.
Power Packs:
All legal guardians of players will be required to provide all teammates in your child's league a Power Pack (water/juice and snacks) for the season, for a minimum of two games. There will be an option for selecting days you are available to be called upon when you register your child (see form below). The schedule will be posted online and provided to you at the beginning of the season. If you are not able to work your scheduled game you are asked to trade or find a replacement.
